Fighting Fear

Hola Hola everyone!!!

Another great week here in beautiful Spain! It's so beautiful here in Barcelona, well i imagine it is, the only part that i have seen of it is the apartment across the street from my window..

Hahah jokes aside, I am doing great! Of course, I would rather there, yanno, not be a world-wide pandemic, but other than that things are great! We actually have had quite a bit of success this past week! In my contacts there are like 500 people who we have no idea who they are, (Old amigos, less actives, ect.) So I have just been cleaning up our contacts and calling each of them and seeing if they remember about the missionaries and if they would be interested in a daily scripture or spiritual thought! I have had so many people who are interested in that!! And then after a little bit of getting to know them, I see if they are interested in doing a videocall and we share a message!! THE LORD HAS NOT ABANDONED US!!! Some of the other missionaries that I have talked to have told me of some insane miracles they have had! Turns out when the world is a mess and everyone is home, their hearts are a little more open and they have the time to learn a little bit more about God's beautiful gospel!

Hermana Galli, my mission president's wife, sends us missionaries a little thing about "Fighting Fear" every day, and I have really enjoyed the things she sends us! The truth is that the world is covered in darkness right now, I mean you can't even talk to anyone without the topic of The Corona Virus coming up. People are dying, losing their jobs, and it seems that we as a population are just covered in fear. Fear of what else could happen, fear of the unknown.

Welllllll, in my personal studies this week, which I have been loving having tons of time for, I was reading in the book of Moses and found a really interesting parellel that I think is very useful right now! I will read chapter 1, verses 20 and 21, and break them up to talk about them a little bit.

Background information, Moses had just seen God and spoken to Him face to face, afterwards, Satan comes and tries to tempt Moses and demands that he worship him.

"20 And it came to pass that Moses began to fear exceedingly; and as he began to fear, he saw the bitterness of hell." Alright, so first thing, Moses fears, and he sees the bitterness of hell, or in Other words, Satan now has power over Moses. Alright, continue.
"Nevertheless, calling upon God, he received strength, and he commanded, saying: Depart from me, Satan, for this one God only will I worship, which is the God of glory." Moses Calls upon God and recieves strength and is no longer scared.
"21 And now Satan began to tremble, and the earth shook; and Moses received strength, and called upon God, saying: In the name of the Only Begotten, depart hence, Satan."
Finally, Satan began to tremble, or in other words, now Satan has fear, which led to Moses having power over him and being able to command him to leave!

So what do we learn? What is the parallel? There is one thing that led to Satan having power, when Moses feared. And what led to Moses having power was when Satan feared. We learn that fear is an interesting thing, when we submit ourselves to fear, we are giving up our agency to do what we can to overcome whatever causes this fear. If we can learn how to truly trust God in every aspect, and understand that He is All-Powerful and All-Knowing, and that He has a perfect plan for us, we never need to fear, we just need to turn to Him. If we can overcome fear and rely on God, Satan will TREMBLE before us!

Psalm 27:1
1 The Lord is my light and my salvation;
whom shall I fear?
the Lord is the strength of my life;
of whom shall I be afraid?

Something awesome that I love about Spain is every night at 8:00 at night, everyone leans out their window and claps and cheers for all of the people working so hard in hospitals and as police to help with this virus, I love it!!

I love you all and hope you all enjoy the special 200th anniversary of Joseph Smith's first vision General Conference!!!

Also por favor send me an email! I love hearing from you all, and need something to do ahaha!!😂🤷🏼‍♂️
