Week 4 -- Oct. 26, 2019

Hola Amigos!!

This week was another good one!! Still a little bit sick, but I am getting better, finally!!

Sooo here's a funny story that I slightly feel bad about, only slightly. There's an Hermana in my district who has more energy than anyone I have ever met, she's super funny. Last week, we were in class and I honestly don't have any idea of how this came up in conversation, but long story short, I said something like, "If you had to be a Disney Character, I think you would be Dory." And to my surprise she responded, "ARE YOU ACTUALLY KIDDING ME?? IT FOLLOWED ME TO THE MTC!!!??" And I was so confused, but I guess throughout highschool, all of her friends had a joke about her being like the fish Dory, from Finding Nemo, and she never understood why it was a thing. Well she was laughing so hard, and i guess she talked about that in her group email last week, because we were at dinner earlier this week and she opened up a package with a hidden sender, and inside was a big Dory stuffed animal! It was the funniest thing ever, our entire district died of laughter.

I also found out about the dumbest way to get sent home from your mission earlier this week. We have an Elder in our district who was at the MTC a year ago but tore his ACL super bad and had to go back home. Well there is a cat that just roams around MTC campus, and no one really knows who's cat it actually is. So the other day Elder Calvert was telling us that three Elders in his district last year were sent home after the MTC President found out they had been trying to ordain the priesthood to this cat. I'm just picturing going home and having to tell people, "I got sent home from my mission because I gave the priesthood to a cat..." Ahhhhh gotta love the Elders...

Really cool experience this week. We were teaching our TRC Nandy, and we had this whole plan we spent forever making, and we were like 20 minutes into the lesson, and hadn't even said anything that we had planned on teaching at all. It was incredible!! the spirit completely took over our lesson! And it was all in Spanish too!!! We were teaching her about the importance of having priesthood leaders on the Earth who have God's authority, (Not planned at all) and all the sudden the thought came to mind, "I should invite her to go home and listen to a talk from general conference so she can actually hear what these prophets i'm talking about actually say, and she'll be able to gain her own testimony!" So i start to invite her and i look over and my companion at the exact same time had pulled up the talk, "The Prophet of God - Neil L. Anderson." It was the absolute perfect talk, and the spirit had us thinking perfectly in sync. IT WAS AMAZING!!
There isn't anything like serving a mission. The spirit here is so strong! I absolutely love it!
I was sitting in the temple today, and the song, "Families can be together forever." was stuck in my head, and i look up and guess who happened to be at the temple the exact same time as me!? My cousin Madelyn, who enters the MTC in 10 days so GOOD LUCK to her!!! It was the coolest thing ever!!! I love everything about this Gospel!

I love all of you!! Have a Great Week!!!
