Week 6 -- November 9, 2019
Semana Seis!! Sleepovers and The Real World
Hola Amigos!!
Another fantastic week here at the great MTC!!!
This week went by super fast, which surprises me considering it's been my final week in the MTC!
On Tuesday, We had our devotional. None of us really knew who the speaker was, kind of a no-name, i don't know if any of you have heard of him. His name was something along the lines of Elder Uchtdorf!! Holy cow, his talk was INCREDIBLE!! Just his presence gave us chills. He talked a lot about how we need to obviously put in work to receive blessings, but that we aren't perfect and that's okay. He said, "You don't need to be perfect, you just need to try!" His message was really really cool and encouraging to so many of us!! It was kind of funny, after it was over and he and his wife were walking out, they literally stopped and turned around to wave goodbye, probably 12 times. He didn't really want to leave!
On Thursday, all of the missionaries here that are going to Spain had to leave the MTC to go to UVU. The office of the Consulate of Spain is at UVU, so we had to go there to get our Visas. We were lucky it was so close, a couple Hermanas in my district had 3am flights to Arizona to get their Visas, and then turned around and flew right back here. It was really crazy being out in the real world again. It's crazy how many people notice missionaries. We got so many people glancing over at us, and it was just so fun to just go and talk to so many people! We were talking to this one person and ended up giving him a Book of Mormon!! On the bus ride back, there were a bunch of young women who only spoke Spanish, and it was really cool being able to talk to them!!! The experience just made me so so so so so so excited to be in Spain and convert the entire nation!! I already feel such a large amount of love for all of them!!!
Speaking of which, I can't believe I've almost completed my stay in the MTC!! It's crazy! I leave here at 6:15 am, Monday morning, and I will arrive in Barcelona at 10 am Tuesday morning!! I am so excited, but also sad because I have loved the MTC and my district so much, it makes me sad that I'm leaving them, but it's okay because a lot of them will be going to BYU as well after the mission!!
Last night all the Elders in my district all brought our mattresses into one room, and had a sleepover. We ate chips and salsa, donuts, all our treats that we can't fit into our suitcases!! It was honestly so much fun! The interesting thing to me was here we are, eight 18-19 year old boys, hyped up on sugar, hanging out way late at night, and yet the gospel was the primary subject of our conversation the whole night. We talked a lot about what we've learned here and what we are excited for in the field. It was really cool, the spirit was SO strong!! But yeah today has been a busy day packing and getting ready to leave and everyone is regretting getting minimal sleep... definitely worth it however!!
I love it here, i'm excited for Spain!
I love my mission!
I love my Savior
