Week 18 -- Feb. 2, 2020

New Area, New Comp

Hola hola!!!!! Sorry for not writing last week,  we were crazy busy on our Preperation Day!!! So no worries, I am still alive!!!

A lot has happened in the past two weeks!!! We had transfers,  and I went from freezing cold, beautiful San Sebastián,  to perfect climate, trashy beach town Benidorm!!! It's literally like the Las Vegas of Spain,  the majority of the population here is just old tourists!! Its such a party here 24/7 though😂
The branch here has a ton of drama,  but the members love the missionaries which rocks because we have eating appointments every single day!!!! (If you want to know where my area is, it's the little point that sticks out on the east side of Spain) I actually love it though, the hand of The Lord is so prevalent here, and He is really helping us everyday!!!

My new companion is Elder Peter's! He is from Minnesota,  has about a year in the mission, and is a super good missionary!!!! Loves to work hard and has every scripture memorized,  and knows everything about super deep doctrine 😂😂

Here's a fun story that happened this week, There's this Colombian family we've been meeting with, and every single time we go, the grandma is trying so hard for me to date her daughter😂😂 every time we're there,  "my daughter is 17 and you're 18!!!" And I'm just like, "uh yeah hahaha my companion is 20, his birthday is next week!!! How cool is that??" (Trying to change the subject..) and then she is just like, "yeah cool, but this beautiful girl is 17!!" And it's so so so funny😂😂
I was studying the Book of Mormon the other day and I laughed so hard when i read Alma 17:24-25, i now know that Ammon understands exactly how I feel😂😂

For Preparation Day last week,  a member took us on a tour of Alicante (a different area pretty close to Benidorm) it was really cool!!! We visited a ton of different museums!!! My favorite was one that had like 1000 different nativities! It was really cool, and my mom would have died of happiness!!! We also went and walked around the Coliseum for Bullfighting!!! That was INSANE!!!!! We did a ton of really cool stuff and I learned a lot!! Another fun thing that my companion is very proud of is that i finally tried mate! It's very common here and all the Elders love it, and i can't decide if I love it or hate it🤔

Today was our Preperation Day because we went to the Madrid Temple!!! It was an incredible experience and I just was reminded so strongly of the love that my Father in Heaven has for me(:
We woke up at 3 am, drove 5 hours (we are in one of the only areas in the mission that has a car👌) spent like 5 hours in the temple, and now we're on our way back with like 1 hour left and its already 10:30, I'm exhausted,  but the truth is, I'm so happy! It was absolutely worth it! The temple is literally the house of my Father in Heaven! I think a lot of the time we just need a real good reminder that we really are literal children of a Loving God who wants nothing more than for us to live with Him again, and that's exactly what the temple does for ya!(:
