Week 33 -- May 25, 2020
Eclipse
Hey everyone!! It has been a really good week here in Barcelona!!In some good news, Barcelona and Madrid finally caught up with the rest of Spain today and entered phase 1. Phase 0 meant we could leave our apartments at 8pm to walk around a little bit, and I am still not totally sure what phase 1 allows us to do, but it's showing that prayers are being answered and we seem to be improving!
We taught quite a few people this week, it was really good! It really amazes me at how powerful The Spirit can be even through videocall! We had some really powerful experiences! We had our second Zone Conference through Zoom this week, and it was good, we basically just discussed how to better use Facebook to find more people, we learned some really interesting things! We also finally got a graphic design app approved on our phones, so now we can start making some cool inspirational messages!
On Facebook, I came across an interesting post that made me think about something pretty interesting. I'll just paraphrase what it said in my own words.
Let's go back a couple thousand or so years, let's imagine the first people to experience an eclipse. At this time, there's no advanced scientific knowledge or any knowledge about the stars at all. All of the sudden the moon goes in front of the sun, and it just goes black in the middle of the day. Imagine the fear these people must have had, all of the sudden they can't see any light, they don't know what's happening and have no idea at all when or if the sun will return. But then it does, within minutes, the light returns and everything is great, worry is taken away! Now let's put that into a gospel perspective! Sometimes the light is missing from our lives, sometimes it seems as if God has left us, but it's the same as an eclipse, He isn't gone, He is just hiding for a brief moment. Why would we give up believing in a Loving God after already having had many experiences that prove His light when we have a brief moment where we can't seem to see it? He never leaves us, He always is with us step by step, and any time we struggle to feel His presence, think about an eclipse, He is not gone but rather hidden, think about if anything you're doing is causing that, if not, pray to know what you must learn from that experience, I promise that God loves me and He loves you. He lives, and the light will always return! I bear my witness and testimony of that in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Love you all!!
