Week 44 -- August 10, 2020

Not Blessings, but Miracles

Heyyyyyy!! It was a good week!! It honestly went by insanely fast!! We were taking the Sacrament yesterday, and I was like, "wait a sec, it isn't Wednesday? How is it already Sunday??????""" Time is soo weird lol ahahh!!

For some pretty exciting news, we were walking to our parking garage (Hallelujah we finally got some parking and don't have to drive around for an hour (literally not an exaggeration) trying to find parking before giving up and being willing to just pay the 10€ parking ticket🙌) and we found 260€ in the street!!! Which is equivalent to $305.84!!!! We were shocked, we sat there for a long time waiting for someone to come back looking for it. Finally we left a note that said, "if you lost something, call us" and left our number. Well like 5 days passed and no one called, sooooo my companion bought himself a GoPro today,  fun times!

Last night, we had an incredible experience!!! The missionaries serving in the mission covering the Sacred Grove, gave our mission and all our amigos a virtual tour over zoom!!! It wasn't great quality, and we reached the maximum people allowed in a Zoom call, but it was really cool! The Spirit was so strong!! One of our amigas told me afterwards, "The Spirit was there, I know it was, I know I will visit The Sacred Grove one day!" It was amazing. In my mission, I have heard/seen on Facebook countless negative things about Joseph Smith and the truthfulness of The Restoration,  but the truth is, it doesn't matter at all what anyone says, I cannot deny the Spirit or the confirmation it has given me. This is The Church of Jesus Christ and it has been restored to be the same church that Christ organized 2000 years ago.

Here's an amazing miracle, straight up blessing doesn't even cover it for this one, this was a miracle. We were planning on the baptism for a little girl yesterday. She lives in Vich, the other area we are covering, which is 1.5 hours away.  On Friday, we had some good appointments, and then out of nowhere my companion was like, "do you wanna go to Vich and we can take some baptism pics for her and drop her dress off?" And the very reasonable answer would have just been to just do that before her baptism on Sunday, because that would be way out of the way and we already had planned appointments that day. Butttt for some reason I was just like, sure let's go. And we left without a second thought. I guess she had been at her mom's house all week and had just barely been dropped off at her dad's.  Turns out she was insanely, insanely sick with all the symptoms of Covid-19. He invited us inside to give her a blessing, and it hurt to see her. I've never seen someone so weak, she was physically unable to breathe if she was in any position other than laying down. We gave her a blessing, and booked it out of there, bought some hand sanitizer and basically bathed ourselves in it. As we were driving home, I caught myself being a little frustrated that we'd have driven over 3 hours just to give her a blessing, and now her baptism wouldn't even go through on Sunday. Then God kinda smacked me and I realised that his incredible was it that we were able to give her that blessing. For some reason, we drove all the way there not even thinking about how we wouldn't have done it under any other circumstances. If we had known she was really sick, we wouldn't have gone, but we went and gave the blessing and left. God needed us there, and oh boy did He do His part. Two days later, in our virtual Sacrament meeting, there she was, looking as healthy as ever, and her dad shared the most humble, powerful testimony ever. Guys you have to understand, she honestly looked as if she might die, she was really bad, and just like that she received her strength and feels better. Try to convince me that God isn't here helping His children, I dare ya!

I love this gospel, and I love God, this really was a good week, now that I'm typing this email, I am realizing how many blessings we saw, for the sake of the length of the email, I'll cut it off there, but send me an email, I'll be super happy to tell you all about God's wonderful hand in His work here in beautiful Catalunya 😁
